TRANSPORT
COMMUNITY TRANSPORT
We provide a transport service for our day centre members. We work with the community to provide transport to local health centres and other public services
We hire out our minibuses and 4 seater people carrier to local groups and individuals. All of our vehicles can accommodate wheelchairs.
Friend in Need has a small fleet of vehicles for hire - all of which are wheelchair accessible.
Who can hire?
We operate under a small bus permit. Anyone who uses a wheelchair and cannot use cars, taxis or public transport for any reaso
n can access the service, as can non-profit making organisations.
Availability Bookings are subject to driver availability. If you are able to provide your own driver, we can arrange driver registration and familiarisation.
So, whether it's a family occasion, a trip to the hospital, or a few days at the seaside, we can help you get there in comfort and safety.

We have two minibuses, each with a capacity for up to 10 passengers (not including the driver). Both are adapted to carry wheelchair users, and have a passenger lift at the rear
BOOKING FEES
For one session [i.e., morning, afternoon or evening] - £14.00* per session For a full day - £25.00* per day

75p* per mile, inclusive of fuel and insurance
ADMINISTRATION FEES
For journeys within the London Borough of Barnet - £18.00* per session
DRIVERS FEE PER SESSION
£18 per 4hrs session

Car Transport
As part of our Good Neighbour Scheme, we are sometimes able to offer transport, by one of our volunteer drivers, in their own cars. We ask for a small contribution to cover costs.
Volunteer Drivers
We welcome new volunteer drivers offering transport in their own cars and/or to drive FIN vehicles- all that's needed is a clean driving licence. Comprehensive training is offered to new drivers.
