Frederick George
An active youth member of Cinnamon Gardens Baptist church in Sri Lanka's capital city of Colombo, Frederick came to the UK in 1964 to train for the ministry at Spurgeon's College.
He has been the minister of East Barnet Baptist Church since 15th November 1969. During this time he has spearheaded many areas of change and growth - from overseeing the design and rebuilding of the church premises after a fire in 1980, to the establishing of a community care service, open seven days a week. This centre, Friend-in-Need, engages in pastoral care, evangelism and social action. (To read more about this visit the FIN pages at Community Centre).
Frederick serves on the Councils of the London Baptist Association, the Baptist Union of GB and the World Baptist Alliance. He was President of the LBA in 1993/4 and the BU in 1998/9.
Frederick is passionate about developing a Christian community where the unconditional love of Jesus is experienced and expressed to all, where believers become fully-operative Christians demonstrating the power of God's Holy Spirit in words and works of faith and love.
