FIN CLUB
Our day care services have been running for over twenty years. They provide much needed companionship and are designed to enable people to remain within their own homes.
Places are open to residents in East and New Barnet who are over 60 and have a physical, mental or social need. We have facilities to accommodate up to 21 people with a range of dependency needs
Day care is offered Monday To Thursday from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. On Saturdays and Thursdays, we have special services, to give carers a break. These services are detailed below.
For those who are housebound, transport can be provided. Pick-ups, usually starting from 9.30 a.m.
Occasionally we will accept people from outside this area, providing they are able to make their own way to the centre.
Our staff and volunteers work hard to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere. It is our aim to encourage independence and enable our members to remain active and a part of the local community. Apart from a hot mid-day meal, refreshments and good company we are also able to offer the following:
For those attending FIN Club, we offer:
- morning coffee
- lunch
(special dietary requirements are catered for)
- gentle exercise,
- social and recreational activities,
- a programme of organised trips
- mobile library services,
- shopping service,
- afternoon tea
In addition, FIN services may be able to offer:
- Gardening / odd jobs
- Carers' support
- Primary foot care
- Transport to hospital/dentist
Charges?
There is a nominal daily charge for our day care services, and a contribution is requested for additional services.
How do I become a Member?
We accept referrals from care agencies/professionals and self- referrals. A member of staff will always visit to assess the needs of the person before a place is offered. If we are able to offer a place, it may initially be for one day. This can be increased up to a maximum of four days according to the type and level of need. If it is not possible to accommodate the needs of the person referred, we will do our best to provide details of alternatives
